Violin and bow care? Pizz: Pizz. is an abreviation for Pizzicato (not pizza;-) and means to pluck the string. A + sign means LEFT HAND Pizzicato. Andante: Andante literally means “walking tempo” and would be considered a moderately slow tempo.; Fortississimo: Fortississimo is written fff and means “very, very loud”
Viola: The viola is a little bit bigger then the violin. The viola string instrument is measured by inches no fractions like the violin. The viola is available in 14? – 17.5? but if you need a smaller viola, it is possible to put viola strings on a violin. The viola has four strings which are A, D, G and C.
Violin parts : Pegs – There are four pegs that hold the strings. The pegs and peg holes are tapered, so when tuning with the pegs it is necessary to push slightly inward toward the pegbox. When Holding the violin upright with the scroll to the ceiling and the strings facing you, turn the peg very slightly away from you (or up) to raise the pitch and the opposite way to lower the pitch. Grip – The violin bow grip is a leather or rubber wrapping around the stick of the bow at the frog end. The grip will help the violin student hold the bow properly. It is also accompanied by wire wrapping for decoration.
Miss Laura’s lesson plans include customized audio practice aids. Firstly, these can be used during practice or even during a lesson. Miss Laura will record and email short practice recordings after each lesson. You will receive a recording of practice steps, metronome work, or duet parts for play along practice. Therefore, you will have Miss Laura’s help during home practice too, not only in the lesson.
Each student who signs up for one of Miss Laura’s lesson plans will have their very own webpage or practice portal. The practice chart, audio recordings and sheet music will be accessible from the webpage and audio recordings can be submitted to Miss Laura from the page as well. Students can use the practice portal to help with practice and keep everything for their violin lessons in one place. Discover even more details on Suzuki Violin Lessons.
How to change atrings? Attach new string to the tail piece: First place the ball end of the string in the hole on the tailpiece that corresponds with that string. Some Violin E strings have loop ends to be placed on a fine tuner. If you have a fine tuner that needs a loop end but have an E string that has a ball end it is possible to gently remove the ball leaving the loop so that you can place it on the fine tuner. All tail pieces are different but have the same string holes so it is easy to change strings.
