Top fashion and hairstyle advices today? Maria Grazia Chiuri is opening the doors of a new era, explained Dior of the AW22 collection. The mesmerising silhouettes are set against the backdrop of The Next Era, a gallery of paintings signed Mariella Bettineschi and composed of large female portraits borrowed from the history of painting from the 16th to the 19th century. Their eyes, cut and duplicated, question the judgment that has conditioned – and still conditions – women…From clothing to accessories, the creations combine aesthetics and technology, revisiting the Dior heritage. A fascinating exploration between past, present and future. Taking place on the opening night of Paris Fashion Week, Off-White (with a little help from Naomi Campbell, Serena Williams, Cindy Crawford and more) paid tribute to its late and great founder, Virgil Abloh, who sadly passed away last year. Entitled ‘Spaceship Earth: an Imaginary Experience’, the show began with the designer’s final ready-to-wear collection for the house, and ended with a number of beautiful couture gowns. That did not mean however, that we didn’t see some digital presentations, as many designers continued to adopt less traditional ways of presenting their designs, whether through imagery, film or something else unique. However, the emphasis was definitely on the traditional catwalk presentation. With the shows now officially wrapped up for another season, scroll down to see every major moment that took place on the catwalk. From New York, London, Milan and Paris, here is what autumn/winter 2022 is looking like.
If you decide to go with a crown, choose one that’s delicate and won’t overwhelm your hair. Set it up high on the head and/or with a veil positioned at the crown of your head to let your waves take centre stage. Factor in the weight of your headpiece or veil. Choose a piece on the lighter side so it won’t weigh down your curls. The texture and size of your curls and waves, as well as the style and silhouette of your wedding dress, will influence the style of your accessories. Sculptural waves reminiscent of Hollywood styling would better suit a small side comb or small tiara to frame a wedding veil. Relaxed and messy waves will lend itself to accessories that capture boho luxe vibes.
I am so excited about spring/summer 2022’s fashion trends. The overarching mood was one of real optimism, but where the previous season perhaps went into overdrive with the desire (desperation?) to get dressed up for even the most low-key of weekly grocery shops, the outlook for spring and summer is that there is a time and place to be extra fabulous but still a strong demand and a necessity for easy, simple, luxurious, gorgeous clothes and outfits you can fling on in a hurry.
Next season sees a new way to do metallic spangle without the need for sequins – which are often very damaging to the environment. Instead, may we encourage you to get your shine via liquid metal sheens; a far subtler, more grown-up and contemporary take on shimmer. Predominantly – but not exclusively – found in golds and silvers, these sheeny dreams create a molten metal feel as luxurious, shimmering fabric appears to be falling around your body. While tights are a mainstay in many winter wardrobes, when it comes to summer very few of us give even a moments thought to dressing our legs. Providing they’re covered in SPF and not overheating, we’re happy. But all that change next season, as thigh high boots with feathered trims, lace leggings and embroidered hosiery take centre stag. If you’re tired of going out and finding someone else with the exact same outfit, or if you’re looking for a new, fresh look that nobody else has then you’re at the right place. We offer the latest in women’s fashion from the high-streets at a price you can afford.
Nicolas Ghesquiere described the spring/summer 2022 collection as le grand bal of Time, celebrating opulence with a fairytale collection which nodded to the house’s history but with the relaxed touches that the creative director has become known for. Louis Vuitton is currently celebrating what would have been its founder’s 200th birthday, so it was certainly a fitting mood – and a beautiful end to the first real-life Paris Fashion Week we’ve been treated to in a few years. The elements were depicted throughout the collection, from dreamlike cloud prints, to clothes inspired by the unpredictability of storm chasing, and variations on the glittering night sky.
Blunt Bob, Sarah Paulson’s sleek bob is even fresher with a deep side part. Here, the ends of her hair are styled to look a little more rounded, but that does not take away from the overall bluntness of the look. Consider this styling route if you want to make your cut look a bit softer. Find even more info at https://www.weeklybroadsheets.com/.
